Some of you may know me, some may not but gaming has always been a big part of my life. I have met a lot of good people from around the world through games and it has helped me to socialise more and use my creativity depending on what I’m playing.
Today I wanted to recommend a few games that I have played or play on a regular basis that can be used to relax, be competitive or even help to encourage to get out more. I’m sticking to mobile and multi platform games as these are cheaper or free to play.
The first game I recommend is Pokemon Go on mobile as it encourages you to go outside to catch Pokemon and collect items or hatch eggs. You can add friends, send them gifts, trade pokemon, battle in gyms and raids and even battle other players (just make sure you keep up with social distancing). Most importantly it is free to play so if you don’t want to spend money on a game then this is a good one to play. However it does have a shop where you can buy extra items if you choose. Here is a link to their website if you want to know more https://pokemongolive.com/en/
If you are more interested in puzzles then I highly recommend a game called Puzzledom - classic puzzles all in one. You play one kind of puzzle when you start and as you progress through levels you unlock new types of puzzles. As you play you gain rewards as coins and you can spend these to gain hints if you are feeling stuck on a certain level. It has puzzles like blocks which are like tetris but rather than the shapes moving you have to arrange the shapes to fit into a shape. It has sudoku and a puzzle called colours where there are gradients of colours which you have to match to complete the level. Again this game is free to play but does have a VIP mode which adds new levels. I don’t feel like you need to buy this as the base game has plenty of content. Find this game through the app store on your mobile.
The last game I recommend is Minecraft as this is a game I have been playing on and off for over 9 years. It is a multi platform game and can be played on XBox, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, Windows 10 and Nintendo Switch. There are a few versions of this game, one of which is called Bedrock edition which is used on any platform but is restricted and can’t be modified. The version I play is Java edition which means people change it and add modifications that change the base game functions. If you just want to get into the game and want to keep it simple then play Bedrock edition. The reason I have played this game so much over the years is because I can play it with many people or solo and there is no goal. You can build, you can explore, fight enemies, build contraptions, grow crops….The list is too long. This is the only game on my list that isn’t free. The Java Edition is $26.95 and can only be played on PC and Bedrock Edition increases in price from $6.99 depending on what platform you buy it for.
